Members of The PRIME Opti Team traveled to the Atlanta Yacht Club for the 2011 Snipe Halloween Regatta, the largest Snipe regatta in the U.S. The team were the guests of the Snipe Class International Racing Association USA and the AYC. Conditions Saturday were “once-in-a-century” at AYC with steady winds of 20+++. PRIME sailors, most of who had never even seen a Snipe, demonstrated the PRIME sailing values of Dedication, Training, Teamwork and Focus by winning the jr. regatta (Gise), and taking 1st (Tucker and Ando), 2nd (McCaffrey and Gise), and 4th (Wiggins and Dodd) in the goblin fleet for the main event.
The team thanks our guest sailors for the regatta from the AYC, Carlyn Blaulvelt and Anna Mitchel, who we hope to see in PRIME livery at future Opti regattas! We also want to extend our deepest thanks to Don Hackbarth of SCIRA USA, and most importantly, the Atlanta Yacht Club for hosting us and putting on such a wonderful regatta.
